Once you have committed your changes and are ready to submit your assignment, you need to "push" your commits to github. You add a "commit message" which describes the changes you've made. In git, after you've made some changes to a file or multiple files, you need to "commit them" which saves the current state of all your files. Committing & Pushing Changes (Sourcetree App Version)
Either double-click the index.html file in your file navigator, or use "File -> Open" in your web browser and find the index.html file. In order to see your website, you can open the index.html file with your browser. Make sure to save your progress often! Previewing Your Website You are now ready to make changes to the assignment. Once you've added the project folder, open the assignment folder you would like to work on, and open the index.html file. This way, when you clone new assignments they will automatically show up in Atom. Select the "cse104" folder you created to hold all of your class assignments. Click the "File" menu and select "Add Project Folder". Once you've cloned your repository, open up your Atom text editor. Select the "cse104" folder you created earlier to store all of your class assignments. The repository should start with "wustlcse104 / " followed by the assignment name with your username at the end.Īfter you click "clone" Sourcetree will ask you where you would like to save your repository. This folder will store all of your assignments for this class.Ĭloning your assignment repository is easy in Sourcetree, just make sure you are on the "Remote" tab and find the repository and click "Clone". The first time you do this, you will need to "Authorize" the application: Visiting this url will copy the assignment files into a new repository in your Github account.įind the Assignment URL and click it.
